Originally from Bluefield, Virginia, Michael Campbell graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Religion from King College in Bristol, Tennessee. In college, he met Keren, who is from the Caribbean island of Saint Vincent. Keren is the eldest daughter of famous Caribbean evangelist and preacher, Dr. Walford Thompson and his wife Jen, who are former members of Old Cutler Presbyterian Church where Walford was an elder.

Mike and Keren, college sweethearts,  were married in 1987 at Old Cutler Presbyterian Church and have three children: Katherine, a graduate of University of Mississippi, Matthew, who works in Miami and is planning to attend UCF this fall, and Elisabeth, who is a senior at Westminster Christian School, has been accepted by Harvard University.

Mike did graduate studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts finishing his Master of Divinity degree at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri.

After graduation in May 1992, the Campbells moved to Miami, Florida where Mike worked for five years with Ministries in Action, Inc., a non-denominational mission agency focused on the Caribbean Islands and Latin America. At that time, Mike and Keren became members at Old Cutler Presbyterian Church where Mike taught a thriving adult Sunday school class and served for a time as a ruling elder.

In 1997 Mike became the pastor of Pinelands Presbyterian Church in Cutler Ridge, FL, just south of Miami. In his seven year tenure, the church went through a time of exciting growth and revitalization including building a new sanctuary.

In 2004, Mike, with Keren and their three children, moved to Jackson, Mississippi where he assumed the role of organizing pastor and then senior pastor of Redeemer Church PCA. Under his leadership the church grew rapidly into a strong and vibrant multi ethnic congregation. Mike was also the driving force in launching Redeemer’s urban Christian elementary school.

Denominationally, Mike has served as a moderator of the South Florida Presbytery and the Mississippi Valley Presbytery. He has preached at two PCA General Assemblies. He served for three years on the board of Covenant Theological Seminary.

Mike received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Covenant Theological Seminary in May 2014, the emphasis of his study being on the church and the city with a specific focus on diverse cultural inclusion through the gospel. Mike has a passion for impacting all people with the truths of the Reformed faith and the life changing power of the gospel.

In July 2015, Mike became Senior Pastor of Old Cutler Presbyterian Church preaching his first sermon on 7/26/2015.
