I thought I would share my latest Facebook Post with you about Gay Marriage. It involved a protestant church in Ireland banning practicing gay couples from church membership. Here is my last post:
Dear Jesse,
You know that I love you. I don’t want to belabor this topic, but it is an important one. I am so happy that you raised it Jesse.
Here is the important point. Jesus Christ is not simply a good moral teacher or just a prophet, he is God, the 2nd person of the Trinity, and the person who created the universe. To become a genuine Christian you have to meet him personally, you have to have an encounter with Him. You can’t choose Him. He has to choose you. The entire Bible from cover to cover is a story of God revealing Himself to various individuals. This is my own experience and the experience of hundreds, if not thousands, of people that I know personally, who are genuine Christians.
People who have met Jesus Christ do not even think of arguing with Him or His teachings. They bow down and worship Him! Not only has this happened in history but this is happening all over the world now in unprecedented numbers even in Muslim, Hindu and Buddhist countries, particularly in China. It is happening in Miami in the church I attend and in other churches here. It is happening in Germany where I have a ministry!
Most of the people I know are intelligent highly educated people who give up their sinful lifestyles when they meet Jesus Christ. They are not like the “rich young ruler” mentioned in the Gospels who thought he could love his money and his lifestyle more than Jesus and still be a Christian. Obviously God did not reveal to him who Jesus really was!
I know several former practicing homosexuals who are now Christians, and have gladly given up their gay lifestyle. My own ministry is primarily to former promiscuous heterosexual womanizers who have also gladly given up their former lifestyle. There is a church in South Beach, where the wife of the Pastor is a former practicing Lesbian, and many, if not most, of the church members are also former practicing homosexuals. On the other hand the “liberal” secularized denominations which are ordaining practicing homosexual priests are dying and their churches are empty. These are FACTS not my opinion. These people have obviously had no encounter with the supernatural God of the Bible, and everyone there looks like they are falling asleep as they go through meaningless rituals. This is exactly why I decided that it is better to go fishing than to attend such churches.
On the other hand, Sunday is now the highlight of my week and I look forward to having yet another encounter with God on Sundays through the preaching and teaching of His Word, through Worship, through the Lord’s supper, and through “Christian fellowship” – being with other people who love God and love me and whom I love. This is a taste of heaven, nothing can possibly be more exciting than this
