In Scripture the prophets ALWAYS WARNED the people of God about upcoming judgment. Judgement comes not primarily from the sins of the politicians but PRIMARILY because of the silence and complicity of the church: “if MY PEOPLE, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” ◄ 2 Chronicles 7:14 ►
Like the ancient prophets EVERY CHRISTIAN should be a prophet speaking out and voting against national sins because Jesus said that the LEAST in the Kingdom of God is greater than John the Baptist (who Biblically was the Greatest prophet of all as the preparer of the way for the Messiah). We should be involved in the political process, we should be like Wilberforce who got the majority of the people of England to change their minds and be OUTRAGED by the sin of slavery!
Jesus was outraged by the desecration of the temple! But now humans are temples if the Spirit of God lives in us”! Why are we not outraged by the taking of human life which is the only life that is sacred as being made in “the image of God”? This is the basis of the Declaration of Independence! It does’t apply to apes! If you are an ape or a brute of the jungle, you will have no problem with what is going on!
