Are all People Children of God according to the Bible?

The answer is in short is that all people from the moment of conception are God’s creation, but they are not children of God. Of course, God loves all his creation, especially human beings, because we humans are the ONLY beings which are all created in His image, human life is sacred, but all people are not His children, or his family! I will explain below.

Everyone is born a child of Adam, a creation of God, but not a child of God. The only scripture that you need is John 3. There Jesus explains to Nicodemus that in order to become a child of God you have to be born of God. You have to be born of the Spirit of God, you have to be “born again”, you were born physically from your parents, descendants of Adam, but that is not enough you have to be born a second time – born spiritually!

John 3

“3. Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again[b] he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit”

In John 1:12 we read:

12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”

Nothing could be clearer than this‼ Read the words carefully.

Those born of the first Adam have sin and [eternal] death, but those born of the 2nd Adam [Jesus] have eternal life:

Romans 5:

“17 For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man Adam] much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ [the 2nd Adam].

18 Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. 19 For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.“

This means:

The first Adam sinned and failed, and died spiritually, all his children are therefore born spiritually dead. But the second Adam, Jesus, never failed, but lived a perfect life in our place. That is why the perfect righteousness of Christ is credited to the account of all the children of Christ, – those who believe in his name.

Here is a riddle: “ if you are born once you die twice, but if you are born twice you die only once”.

SUMMARY SCRIPTURES:

John Chapter one states that in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God,(the Father) and the Word was God (the Son). This one called the Word is Jesus, who came to His own, the Israelites, and they received Him not, but murdered Him. (Verse 11)

Now notice

Verses 12-13,– “But a many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become CHILDREN OF GOD, even to those who believe in His name, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

What About Those Who Received Him Not?

Answering Nicodemus in John 3 and certain Jews in John 8 who were laying claim to the promises of God through the natural seed of Abraham, Jesus told them in effect, that it was not enough to be born of Abraham to “see the kingdom”, but one must be born again of the spirit. Now notice Jesus’ response to those Jews who would not receive Him.

John 8:42-47 Jesus says:

If God were YOUR FATHER, you would love Me; for I proceeded forth and have come from God, for I have not even come on My own initiative, but He sent Me.”
“Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot hear My word.”

“You are of YOUR FATHER the DEVIL, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a MURDERER FROM THE BEGINNING, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature; for he is a liar, and the father of lies.”

“But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me. Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If I speak truth, why do you not believe Me?”

“HE WHO IS OF GOD hears the WORDS OF GOD; for this reason you do not hear them, BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT OF GOD.” (John 8:42-47)
