A CONVERSATION ABOUT THE ABOVE VIDEO:

JA:

Socialism is the concentration of power in the hands of govt elites??? Lol. Thats funny. That’s communism. Fascism too.

DAVE:

Yes some call Hitler a fascist of the right and Stalin a fascist of the left.

My mentor Francis Schaeffer has written books to show that in the West godlessness is common to both and at a deeper level is the cause of both – because only God can provide a basis for moral boundaries and the dignity of each human being. Without God it leads to social Darwinism “the survival of the fittest”. Fredrich Nietzsche, an atheist admitted this.

JA:

I don’t know who calls Stalin a Fascist – but they were both truly evil men. I think it was Mussolini who First used the term “Fascism” – Fascists generally believe in a racial or nationalist superiority. Communism isn’t Fascism. Communism is an economic ideology – Fascism is a social ideology. Both have a general contempt for democracy –

Socialism exists perfectly harmoniously with both capitalistic ideals AND democracy.

DAVE:

Francis Schaeffer was looking long term not just at one century. Socialism is watered-down Marxism.

Eventually long term history proves that totalitarianism will eventually emerge in a “Godless culture” (by “Godless” I include Roman Catholic and ALL cultures not based on Biblical Protestant Principles coming out of the Protestant Revolution). ALL of these cultures have had dictators. These was no democracy in the entire continent of Asia before the Korean War. Now South Korea has the largest churches in the world, and its democracy is working, as best as democracy can work.

It is ONLY in countries which became largely Protestant in Northern Europe after the Protestant Revolution and in English speaking countries (also with Protestant roots) where democracy has lasted without a dictatorship!

Germany 🇩🇪seems on the surface to be an exception to this statement, but it is not. Germany and France 🇫🇷after the Enlightenment turned from God. France (which was never really Protestant anyway) got Napoleon who was a Dictator and in Germany the State Church ceased to believe in the supernatural elements of the Bible embraced “rationalism” (the philosophy which is a branch of “naturalism” which says that all that exists is matter and energy) and called their belief system “Liberal Theology”. That is why Germany got Hitler.

Before Hitler atheistic Marxism came along and eventually produced Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot, resulting in the murder of hundreds of millions.

John Adams was absolutely correct when he said:

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other”.

Margaret Thatcher echoed these words on visiting America she said America was exceptional because it was the only country expressly founded on Judeo-Christian principles. She also said:

“The truths of the Judaic-Christian tradition, are infinitely precious, not only, as I believe, because they are true, but also because they provide the moral impulse which alone can lead to that peace, in the true meaning of the word, for which we all long. . . . There is little hope for democracy if the hearts of men and women in democratic societies cannot be touched by a call to something greater than themselves.” …

“Freedom will destroy itself if it is not exercised within some sort of moral framework, some body of shared beliefs, some spiritual heritage transmitted through the Church, the family, and the school.”

Western democracy itself is founded on Judeo-Christian principles of the Protestant Reformation. Greek democracy was elitist, it did not believe in the sanctity of human life, and treated women, slaves and peasants as not more than chattels without human rights and dignity and without votes!

French sociologist and political theorist Alexis de Tocqueville (1805-1859) traveled to the United States in 1831. In “Democracy in America” (1835), one of the most influential books of the 19th century he wrote:

“Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits aflame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, she will cease to be great.”

“Democracy extends the sphere of individual freedom, socialism restricts it. Democracy attaches all possible value to each man; socialism makes each man a mere agent, a mere number. Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word: equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude.”

Alexis de Tocqueville, “Democracy in America”

JA:

I understand.

Countries with the worlds highest standards of living – worlds highest literacy rates -lowest incarceration rates/ highest transparency rates – all socialist democracies.

America isn’t even a democracy as far as I am concerned. Trump was elected by a minority of the voters – and the Republican Party continues to manipulate the electoral college to ensure power remains in their hands.

Socialist democracy’s have consistently outperformed the United States in every benchmark of humanity except two  – violence and ability to perpetrate violence / war.

DAVE:

Call them what you will, but go back and study their roots. There is no perfect form of government in a fallen world. When He returns we will have a perfect world ruled by a perfect benevolent loving King, JesusJA:

JA:

Hallelujah!!  Until then we have Trump !!
