The Bible is Anti-Slavery in Both the Old and New Testaments

“There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” – Galatians 3:28

Because the Bible deals with something evil does not mean the Bible approves of it.

In considering any Biblical or theological subject we should always follow the following pattern:

1. Creation – God’s Original Purpose
2. Fall – What went wrong.

3. Redemption – What God did to solve the problem.

4. Consummation –  The final implementation of God’s Complete Solution.

Remember that it was because William Wilberforce was a Bible believing Christian that he devoted his entire life to the Abolition of the slave trade (1807)  in the British Empire, and the abolition of slavery itself followed afterwards in 1833.  The USA followed suit years later in 1865 after the Civil War. Abolition in the USA was also based on Biblical arguments.
